I LOVE this girl.
So there we are in the grocery store, temporarily split as teams are wont to do in order to independently hunt down the black olives and milk, when Steve Perry's "Open Arms" comes over the intercom.
So I'm cruising through the pickles, air-drumming and lip-synching to this terrible 80's ballad, just feeling it. I turn the corner into produce to look for my wife, and there's Juli, standing in the bananas, sporting that "I'm-Steve-Perry-and-I'm-in-pain-waiting-here-with-open-arms" grimace on her face and silently belting out the chorus.
I mean, I really love this girl.

"open arms" is not just perry. it's full-fledged JOURNEY, mothafuck. off their classic LP "escape", which also featured their indelible smash "don't stop believing".

See, the thing is I will ALWAYS associate Neal Schon w/ Santana, so Journey to me is basically Perry. Plus, "Sherry" always has me at hello. But good on ya--thanks for lookin' out.
